When adding raisins or any other dried fruit to the cookie dough it is best to soak them in warm water for about 15-30 minutes. Then take them out from the water and drain on a paper towel. Don’t forget to take the oatmeal cookies out of the oven after the baking. Even if it looks to you that they are still soft. The fact is that they need some time to cool off. They tend to harden and lose their chewy texture if overbaked.
